Love: Satoshi actually does not seem to have any interest in love and doesn't really seem to understand it either. In early Kanto, he was attracted to a girl named Seiyo, but this was really early in the anime when the writers hadn't yet settled on how they were going to portray their characters. In the end, they obviously decided it would be better for Satoshi to be completely clueless. That hasn't stopped girls from crushing on him however. In the Battle Frontier, Lila had a crush on him but he didn't realise her feelings for him. In Shinou, Aoi is also attracted to him after he saves her life.

Satoshi is a headstrong Pokémon trainer with a heart of gold. He is very confident, to the point that he sometimes has an ego inflation problem but his ego gets flattened a lot so it's never going to be a problem. He can be quite competitive at times and has a bit of a reckless streak that often gets him into trouble, and he has been in his fair share of life threatening situations. As the series has gone on, Satoshi has matured greatly. He isn't as hyperactive, hot headed and clueless as he used to be, but still can have his dumb moments.

Satoshi has been in the anime since the very first episode and he sure isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Which is a very good thing, because I wouldn't be watching the show anymore if Satoshi wasn't around. Satoshi woke up late on the day he was supposed to start his Pokémon journey after smashing his alarm clock and ran all the way to Orchid-hakase's laboratory in his pajamas. When he arrived, he "met" (the writers retconned this later. I can understand why.) his rival, Shigeru Orchid, who also happened to be Orchid-hakase's grandson. Since Satoshi was late, he was given an extra Pokémon Orchid-hakase had, which was Pikachu. Pikachu was unwilling to even listen to Satoshi at first but when Satoshi risked his life to defend Pikachu from a flock of angry Onisuzume, Pikachu saved him and the two of them have been inseparable friends ever since.

On his journey, Satoshi travelled with Kasumi and Takeshi. In the Orange Islands, Takeshi was replaced by Kenji, but came back for Jouto. In the Advanced Generation, Kasumi had left and Satoshi and Takeshi were now accompanied by Haruka and her brother, Masato. Not only did Satoshi have new travelling companions, he also had a change of clothes.

Satoshi, Takeshi, Haruka and Masato travelled around the Houen region together. They temporarily separated after the Houen Grand Festival and League, going to their respective homes, but when Satoshi decided to do the Kanto Battle Frontier, they regrouped again. Satoshi went around collecting the symbols from each Frontier Brain. It took him three tries to defeat the final Frontier Brain, Jindai, but he eventually managed to do so and ended up conquering the Battle Frontier. Satoshi was invited to become a Frontier Brain, but passed up the offer as he wished to continue travelling. The next region was the Shinou region and it was also time for a new female travelling companion and another clothes change.

Currently, Satoshi, Hikari and Takeshi are travelling through the Shinou region, Satoshi occasionally coming to blows with his new rival, Shinji. Since the saga is still going on at the time of writing this, there isn't really a lot to say...

Satoshi's journey has been anything but uneventful. He had to save the whole world in the second movie for example. Unlike in the dub though, he wasn't mentioned in the prophecy. The prophecy merely called for a superior trainer. Anyone could have done it.

Then there was the eighth movie, which ranks as one of my all time favourite movies. Satoshi is discovered to have the same Wave as the legendary hero Aaron and meets his friend Lucario who was sealed in his staff. Satoshi's Wave is more powerful than that of most people and he was able to activate Time Flowers, which would show scenes from the past. Later on, in the Tree of World's Origin, Satoshi put on Aaron's glove and used his Wave to try and save the tree, even though it would mean sacrificing himself just like Aaron had done before him. However, Lucario took his place and was able to save the tree himself.

Wave was brought up again in Diamond and Pearl. When Satoshi and co. accidentally unleashed an evil Mikaruge, an old lady told them about an Wave Guardian with a Pikachu who had sealed the Mikaruge in the past. Satoshi reminded her of that Wave Guardian. Also, Satoshi once encountered a Riolu who had a similar Wave to his and it meant he was able to sense it from long distances. He was also able to see its memories at one point.
